SHARE! Featured in the LA Times: Highlighting the Importance of Peer-Led Recovery Housing

SHARE! is honored to be featured in the Los Angeles Times alongside LA Recovery Connect in an important piece exploring how peer-led housing programs like SHARE!’s Recovery Retreat and Collaborative Housing are providing life-saving support to individuals living with mental health and substance use challenges.

The article highlights SHARE!’s long-standing commitment to safe, supportive housing models that emphasize shared living, community connection, and peer support. As Jason Robinson, SHARE!’s Director of Advocacy, Business Development & Training, explained:

“Sharing bedrooms is an essential component. In abstinence-based models, if someone relapses, they are far more likely to overdose and die if they have their own bedroom.”

He also noted that privacy is still a priority at SHARE!, with homes designed to include outdoor seating, family rooms, dens, and home offices—allowing individuals to connect or find solitude as needed.

We’re grateful for this opportunity to share our model with a wider audience, especially as we continue advocating for policy change and funding support for peer-run programs that are already working. With your continued support, we can expand these solutions and help even more people begin their recovery journey.
