SHARE! Housing was the Solution
By: Mo Michel

A 60-year-old woman and had been living in a shared location for five years after undergoing hip surgery and battling Multiple Sclerosis. When her previous living arrangements ended, she was transferred from UCLA Hospital to a shared housing situation. The house she was staying in was sold, and she was asked to leave.
Afterward, she stayed at a shelter in Whittier while managing her health challenges. She was struggling with her condition and the aftermath of her hip surgery since moving into her current location five years ago.
In her desperate situation, we sought immediate housing for her. We reached out to Sherice at Mary’s Blessing, a SHARE! Collaborative Housing, and you could hear their connection. They scheduled an appointment for Friday, and she was successfully housed the very next day.
