SHARE! Spotlight: Kimberly's Recovery Story
By Kimberly, SHARE! Peer Bridger

Celebrating 3 Years of Recovery
On August 19, I celebrated three years of continuous recovery. My journey has been one of faith, growth, accountability, perseverance, and learning how to live life one day at a time.
Recovery has given me much more than freedom from addiction—it has given me a new way of life and the opportunity to use my lived experience to help others. Through Narcotics Anonymous, Mental Health Services and becoming a Peer Bridger at SHARE! I continue to learn the importance of honesty, responsibility, forgiveness, and showing up even when it gets difficult.
I am especially grateful to be able to bring my lived experience into my work here at SHARE! as a Peer Bridger in housing. There was a time in my own life when I experienced homelessness and housing instability. Today, I am housed, in recovery, and able to walk alongside others as they work toward stability in their own lives.
Peer support means meeting people where they are, leading with empathy instead of judgment, and using my lived experiences to remind others that change is possible. As a Peer Bridger, I have the privilege of helping people remain housed, navigate challenges, advocate for themselves, connect with resources, and recognize their own strengths.
I am grateful that some of the hardest chapters of my life have become experiences I can now use to serve others. I don't just get to talk about recovery; I get to live it and carry it into the work I do every day here at SHARE! Collaborative Housing.
Three years down, one day at a time. We do recover.
