Thomas Haberkorn serves as the Director of Housing and Real Estate at SHARE! The Self-Help and Recovery Exchange, where he has served since 2017. In his role, Tom has successfully led initiatives across various departments, including acquisitions, placements, peer bridging, and housing contract guidance. He has played a pivotal role in personally housing over 403 individuals experiencing homelessness. Tom, in his current position, oversees the management of the Housing Placements, Acquisitions, and Peer Bridger departments. He manages the implementation of housing contracts currently totaling $2.5 million. His expertise extends to developing housing partnerships, where he has contributed to opening 73 new homes, providing 625 new beds for people in need. His efforts in real estate acquisitions have expanded SHARE!'s housing footprint, while his community integration work has earned him recognition, including a Community Service Award from the SPA 5/Westside Homeless Coalition and PATH.
Prior to his tenure at SHARE!, Tom was a highly successful real estate development executive with over two decades of experience in constructing large-scale retail centers. As a co-founder of a Los Angeles-based firm, he managed the development of 3 million square feet of retail space across 15 municipalities in the western U.S. His background in property acquisition, team-building, and government relations has enabled him to negotiate complex real estate contracts and manage multimillion-dollar projects. Tom's diverse experience spans roles in real estate development, banking, and private equity, having raised significant capital and developed landmark projects such as the historic Riverside County Hospital redevelopment. His unique skill set bridges real estate development with social impact, and his work continues to drive positive outcomes for underserved communities through strategic housing initiatives.
